ART2044B/ART2044A Adv Printmaking 2B

0.5 credit per semester

Students are challenged to create original artwork by synthesizing concepts and skills while engaging in conventional as well as contemporary printmaking processes (e.g. relief, intaglio, screen print, monoprint or monotype, experimental/non-traditional). This course focuses on understanding different perceptions and provides students the opportunity to enhance their visual literacy. Developing these skills increases empathetic awareness and understanding of society, culture, and history resulting in students who value and respect diversity. Writing, academic language, and critical thinking skills are developed through artist statements, critiques, and the close reading of artworks as text.
