This course is for 11th and 12th graders only. Chemistry higher level provides students with fundamental understanding of chemistry, the nature of science, and experience of the associated skills. This course requires students to increase their knowledge and understanding of chemistry including additional mathematical skills to prepare for further study of chemistry at the university level. The course provides collaborative science projects for students to develop their understanding. There is one internally assessed work, the scientific investigation. This is the first year of a two year course that prepares students for the higher level IB Chemistry exam at the end of year 2.
